Triple J's BBQ will be serving a chicken dinner to benefit the Canisteo Police Club Wednesday, Aug. All proceeds will go toward an annual scholarship to a deserving graduate.
The dinner includes Chicken, baked beans, mac salad and a roll and only costs $10.
Money raised will also be used to help purchase approved standardized equipment to help benefit the officers of the Canisteo Police Department and the community as a whole.
They include but are not limited to the preservation of peace, enforcement of all applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes and ordinances, protecting the life, property and personal safety of all persons, and generally assisting citizens in time of urgent situations.
The level of police service is dictated by the public, and therefore, it is incumbent upon each member to gain the confidence of the public which the department serves.It must be understood by the Canisteo Village Police Department members that the oath of office administered to each member at the time of their employment is their personal commitment and dedication to duty.A Steuben County man is accused of sexually abusing a teenager.According to the Genesee County Sheriff's Office, Joel B.Shorts, 55, of Canisteo, allegedly engaged in sexual conduct with a 15-year-old boy at a home in Darien.Shorts was charged Wednesday with third-degree criminal sexual act, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.
